Germany L7 & L8 - The Ruhr & Hyper Inflation

The lesson contains:
A starter to recap previous knowledge and can be stuck in books.
An overview of the invasion of the Ruhr with a decision making activity which can be checked by watching a YouTube clip.
A guided reading activity about the invasion and its effects with consolidation activities around the outside.
An overview of hyperinflation and how it worked. There are a few slides of images which tell the story of the effects of hyperinflation and allow an opportunity to engage the students with stories of your own.
A colour-coding mind map to show the consequences of the hyperinflation on Germany.
An activity to study small cards with different characters on and the impact of the hyperinflation on them. The students use this wrtie information onto the worksheet and decide who the 'winners and losers' of hyperinflation were.
A choice of plenaries: the first is a long answer question about Germany being damaged by the events, the second is a source activity, and the third is a picture association recap.
