This lesson contains:
A discussion starter about social mobility and how people move up social ladders. Then considering it during Elizbeth's time.
Information about why education was changing, including literacy rates and the printing press.
A video summarising educational changes and a discussion of who was most and least affected.
A longer activity for students to use the information sheet provided to complete their worksheet organiser on education and what was afforded to each social class and genders within them.
A plenary task in two parts: the first to judge three short exam exemplars, the second to have a go at an exam question themselves.
